Nonari vs QuickBooks, feature by feature.
How to move from QuickBooks to Nonari.
Realistic timeline — most teams are running a parallel close within two weeks. Numbers below are based on what other Nonari customers actually took, not optimistic vendor estimates.
Export your QuickBooks data
QBO: Reports → Reports for Accountants → Trial Balance, plus Customer Contact List, Vendor Contact List, Product/Service list, Chart of Accounts. Export each as CSV. Total time: 15 minutes.
Run Nonari's CSV import wizard
Drag the CSVs in. The mapper auto-detects QBO column conventions. Opening trial balance posts as your starting point. Contacts, products, and COA import in their original structure.
Set up FBR + Shopify + multi-branch
These were not in QBO. Add them now: paste your PRAL bearer token, connect your Shopify store, enable multi-branch and create your second location. ~30 minutes total.
Run parallel month-end close
For one month, post invoices in both QBO and Nonari. Compare trial balances. They reconcile to the penny — or we tell you exactly which line is off. Most teams find one or two QBO quirks they had not noticed.
Cancel QuickBooks
After two clean parallel closes, cancel QBO and export your final QBO data archive for safekeeping. Most teams stop opening QBO entirely within six weeks of the parallel start.
The features QuickBooks does not have.
The honest part.
No software wins on everything. If any of these matter more than what Nonari does well, stay with QuickBooks — we will not pretend otherwise.
Massive US accountant ecosystem
Every CPA in the US has 5+ years on QBO. If your accountant lives in QBO and refuses to switch, that is a real cost. Nonari is fine to work with but most US accountants will need a few hours to adapt.
US-specific tax workflows (1099, W-9, state sales tax)
QBO has rich US tax automation. If you are US-based and pay many 1099 contractors, QBO's workflow is honestly better. Nonari targets multi-branch retail and manufacturing with regional tax integrations first.
Bigger third-party app marketplace
QBO has 700+ apps in their marketplace. Nonari has Shopify, WhatsApp, FBR, Stripe — and is building. If your stack depends on a specific QBO-marketplace integration, check our roadmap before switching.
Migration questions, answered.
How much cheaper is Nonari than QuickBooks for a 5-branch chain?
A 5-branch retail chain that does proper per-branch accounting in QBO needs 5 QBO Plus subscriptions ($450/mo USD ≈ PKR 126,000/mo) — plus extra apps for Shopify ($29/mo), inventory ($199/mo), and a separate POS. Total: $678+/mo. Nonari Business at PKR 14,500/mo (~$52/mo USD) covers all of it. That is roughly 13× cheaper, with FBR included.
Can my accountant still use QuickBooks reports?
Nonari exports to QBO's standard report formats (Trial Balance, P&L, BS) as PDF and Excel. If your accountant insists on opening reports in QBO directly, you can keep QBO as a read-only archive of historical data and run Nonari for everything new.
What about US sales-tax filing?
Nonari has a basic sales-tax module but does not yet automate US state-by-state sales-tax filing the way QBO does. If you are a US-only retailer with multi-state sales-tax obligations, QBO + a sales-tax service like Avalara is currently the better fit. We are working on this.
How long does the migration take?
For a single-location business with under 5,000 historical transactions: a long weekend. For a 5-branch chain: 7-14 days from initial CSV import to first clean parallel close. We provide migration help via Nonari Concierge if you sign up for the Business tier.
Will my QuickBooks history come over?
Your opening trial balance and all contacts / products / COA come over cleanly. Historical transaction-level detail is optional — most customers take the opening trial balance as their starting point and keep QBO as a read-only archive. You get a clean trail forward from Nonari's start date without spending two months reconciling years of QBO history.
What if I am happy with QuickBooks?
Stay with it. The cost of switching is real (data migration, accountant retraining, muscle memory). The right reason to switch is a specific pain QBO is causing — multi-branch chaos, FBR non-compliance, foreign-currency bookkeeping, AI gaps. If those do not apply to you, QBO is a perfectly fine tool.
Does Nonari support QBO's W-9 / 1099 workflow for US contractors?
Partially. We store contractor tax info and can generate 1099-NEC summaries by year, but we do not yet auto-file to the IRS the way QBO does. If 1099 filing is a major workflow for your business, this is a real gap — talk to us about timeline.
How does Nonari pricing compare to QBO long-term?
QBO raises prices every year (Plus went from $70 → $90 in 18 months). Nonari's pricing structure scales with the value you get (multi-branch, AI quota), not with extracting more from the same customer. Free tier remains free; paid tiers have not raised list pricing.

Free tier, no credit card. Import a CSV of your QBO trial balance and customers. Post a test invoice. See if it feels right before you spend a weekend migrating.
